Your next solo traveller adventure begins long before you pack

You don’t have to book a one-way ticket tomorrow to start your solo travel adventure. In fact, some of the most rewarding journeys begin not with a flight confirmation, but with a quiet idea and the slow unfolding of a plan. Planning doesn’t have to mean locking everything in – it can mean reading, daydreaming, pinning maps, and letting your curiosity steer – at your own pace.

For many first-time solo travellers, the idea of when to go feels as intimidating as where. But the truth is, you don’t need a departure date to start preparing. Researching destinations, aligning your values, and imagining your ideal kind of experiences are all valid, valuable parts of your journey. Planning is a soft entry point into the mindset of solo travel – a gentle nudge toward something that excites you, not a list of urgent, time-sensitive tasks.

One of the great joys of going it alone is that no one else gets a say in your timeline. You can take six months or two years to get ready – and when you are, you’ll be better prepared, more confident, and more in tune with what you want from the experience. Planning isn’t just about logistics – it’s about listening to yourself, trusting your instincts, and building the kind of journey that suits you.
